My husband and I sublet an apartment to his daughter,we had a verbal agreement that she can't move anyone else in. she has moved in a person that we don't want in the home, our apartment is in a house that has been remodeled into two apts.the access to her apt. puts us at risk because the door has to be left unlocked so they can come and go.I would like to know if we can evict them.

i would like to know if we can evict them.Hello mamma:

Yes, and maybe you won't have to... Without a written agreement, she's a month to month tenant. Before the present rental period ends, give her a 30 day written notice to vacate. If she doesn't, THEN you can evict her.

If it comes to that, you'll have to evict her according to the landlord tenant law in your state. We have copies of your laws at the top of the real estate page on a sticky note.

Generally you can evict anyone, you just have to follow the rules. You can look for KY rules or go to your local housing court and ask what they are.

By the way, I assume the renovation was done according to code.
