I had a "natural" gas leak in my home for over ten years and have been diagnosed with permanent injuries from it. My concern is for my three young grand children who stayed with me for about a month when they were 1 year, 3 years and 5 years. The one year old is three now and still does not talk and can't seem to understand how to pronounce words. A speech therapist has been working with her for several months, but I don't see any improvement. The 3 year old at the time, appears to have almost an asthmatic type cough and is sick a lot. The 5 year old at the time, vomits frequently and has problems and is sick frequently. The ones who were 3 and 5 at the time, don't seem to be growing, they are very small for their ages while the 1 year old at the time has grown very fast and is as tall and much more muscular than her sister who is two years older. They are now 3, 5 1/2 and 7. The 3 and 7 year old just had birthdays the first part of June. They stayed the full month with me at that time, while their parents were moving and remodeling their new home, but have also stayed with me frequently during the time of my gas leak. I am wondering if their problems might be from inhaling the toxic chemicals that are in "natural" gas. Bad name for that gas. Should be Toxic "natural" gas. Please, if anyone has any information, please let me know.

What you have described sounds like they did experience some permanent injuries from inhaling of the natural gas in your home. If you are permanently disabled from the gas leak so are they. Children's bodies process toxins and toxic gases more quickly than adults do.

I'll give you the tools to do some research.

Google "msds natural gas" and look at the components and Google each component.

The primary component will be methane thus "msds methane" is your next start.
