Have a inground pool about 5 yrs old that we replace motor every yr,the wireing & amount of juice is OK it's the sealed bearings that start squealing an freeze up, 2ND ? The well pump is 220v / 2 wire direct to breaker ,its on or off nothing fancy an has worked for years except this yr ,runs about 5 min an quits an will not come back on with breaker switch ,after about 1 or 2 hrs it runs 5 min an off again . Pool pump wiring and juice is OK, but the sealed bearings froze?

Then what happened?

The well pump was fine for years and now only runs for 5 minutes after an hour or so of cooling down.

Not really sure what the question is.

Pool pump:The volts & amps are OK for that motor,but aftera few days of motor noise the bearings lock up ,an we replace the motor again ,WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS ABOUT EVERY YEAR?? WELL PUMP QUESTION > why would the well pump quit after 5 min of running, do they have a built in safety switch if the motor overheats ? THANK YOU

OK , that is a bit more info.

The pool pump could be the incorrect one for that location, for the bearings to fail every year. Could be the product is just junk, if your using the same one every year.

Bearings failing on motors every year sounds like a mechanical issue.

Yes, well pumps have built in thermal protection that will stop the motor if the unit gets too hot.

This could be caused by a mechanical issue, such as a closed valve, clogged pipe, or some other reason in the water line that is causing the pump to work too hard.

Could be a voltage issue also.
