I am getting sharp very painfull pains in the center of my back between my sholderblades up on my upper back every single time I caugh.
I have had pneumonia several times before, and I know I'm more suspectuble to getting it again but this feels different somehow.
Any advice is great

Hi jennie, nice to hear from you again. Scar tissue remains in your lungs every time you have pneumonia so it stands to reason that they are damaged somewhat and if you smoke that makes it more painful. If I remember correctly you smoke.
You don't want to have COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) if you are a smoker.
I would go get check out, Jennie.

Have you had a cold recently Jennie? Or is this something new? Do you suffer chronic cough?
While it COULD be something serious, it could be nothing more than strained muscles from coughing.

Thanks guys. (ive missed you both)
I do smoke, I have tried to quit, but honestly I am trying to weigh my options, and right now its just really hard to quit. (I haven't posted about it yet. But grandma, if you remmeber has MS, is now on hospice, and isn't expected to live anymore than a week. And family has flown in and the house is full of cots and beds on the floors and its loud and croweded and everything is just hell)
So quitting right now wouldn't be a good idea. I WANT to quit. But I'm afraid to quit right at this moment.
I didn't realise pnumonia leaves scar tissue. I get pnumonia A LOT (at least more than normal) at LEAST once a year, sometimes a few times a year. I can't even count how many times I have had it.
j9, me and ayla keep giving strep back and fourth to each other. Our doc (fam practice) wants both of us to remove our tonsils. We both have oversized tonsils and adenoids to begin with, and she has started with the frequent colds and infections now, so he said its time to get rid of them. I did request that he hold off on removing mine until after ayla recovers from hers, because I want to be there for her 100%. He is also shrinking her adnoids (something about cauterizing them) but he said he may want to just remove my adnoids as well as my tonsils.
But yeah, I get very frequent URIs and strep, and sinus infections, I constantly 'seem' to have a cold, but that could be due to my deviated septum so I'm not sure.

I hope you do quit smoking after your crowd goes, jennie, it makes life more pleasant and although some gain a few pounds (and then lose it for sure) the benefits outweigh everything else and your daughter will thank you eventually for quitting. Think of the damage you are doing to her as well. Second hand smoke is the worst and does more damage. I hated to bring that reality to you this way, but when I smoked when Chris was young and someone told me about second hand smoke, I quit immediately, for him and wanting to be with him for as long as possible.
Don't be a stranger to the board any longer, jennie, it was great seeing you back again and good luck becoming a non smoker eventually.

Lol thanks tickle. I'm trying to not be astranger. I don't have a computer right now but I will soon
I agree I want to quit smoking for alll those reasons. I'm already very over weight (120lbs over) and if I gain weight quitting smoking I won't just lose it ill have to work at it. But my doctor wants me to consider either gastric bypass or the gastric band called the realize band. At the moment I'm trying to figure out which one I would rather have. I'm thinking the band simply because if something goes wrong it can be removed. Where as the bypass is perminant.
