I fullfil my heart with heppiness when, 32 years ago, I decide to dedicate my life to abandoned and orphans children.
During the following years, we (me and my wife Carmen) have adopted 13 children.
We have worked very hard all our life for our children, We gave them a real family, love and very good social and academical education. The oldest is 40 and the youngest is 6. Unfortunatelly 4 years ago, one of my children, Lisa, was diagnosed with cancer and was given 4 months of life. We tried everything to save her and we did, but between 5 surgeries, treatments, tests and analiys, specialists, hospital and medicines, we invested, up to date, 1,438,000 dollars. I had to sell everything We owned including my car, mortgage our house etc. and on top of it, my business went underground, my wife lost her job at UPS after 23 yesrs and now, not only I risk lo loose the house because I can't effort to pay the mortgage, I can't continue pay the school for some my children.
3 of them are going to the university for a medical degree and so on.
We were pretty rich, not milionaire but in very good shape and now we are part of the poorest. Well, we did everything we could but we don't see any near future.
In our life we never ask and never receiced any help from anybody, we could make it we our resosces, but now we badly need help! Is out there anybody can help or can suggest where to get help? I appreciate your kind attention.

Have you looked into family services in your area?

Have your children looked into student loans and grants?

Have you attempted to re-negotiate your mortgage with the bank/mortgage company?

In my area the American Cancer Association has a list of sources which provide help.

(I trust you aren't asking anyone here to send you money - "Is there anybody can help ...")

I'm NOT asking for money!! Don't look at my question as if it is a scam, IT IS NOT !
I live in te States and my adoptions were in Jamaica and Dominican Republic where I also, in these countries, use to run my business. As far as my mortgage, I'm negotiating a "reverse mortgage" the house is worthed 1,700,000 dollars. 4 of my children are et the university in Dominican Republic because life and school it's cheaper there. The american Cancer Association won't help because we have history of a healthy financial family.
I'm sorry if my question lead you to suspect a dark side, I should have used different fraseology, besides, I did not want to write it but I feel I'm navigating in the darkness without a compass.

The american Cancer Association won't help because we have history of a healthy financial family.
That surprised me. The Society looks at current situations, not financial history. They don't hand out money, but do know about assistance programs if the needs fall outside their own abilities.

Do/Did you not have health insurance? If not, why not?

Definitely check into financial aid packages at the college/universities.

If your home is worth one million seven hundred thousand dollars, have you considered selling and downsizing?

Since you are in Florida, you can utilize their referral system at the 211 Network, found here 2-1-1 Network (http://www.flairs.org/florida211networkplan.htm)
