Right now I have a big problem , we have a job in a country blub that has a wood Matthews fire hydrant from 1968 , the hydrant is fine but the fire depot is making them raise it to meet there odd rules , I am looking for an 18inch extension , I had bought one for a newer hydrant to no avail , we just found out this hydrant must be dug up to in order to put on extension because unlike newer models this one screws out from bottom , any ideas where to find an extension , I will we could just replace but the love that hydrant

I just puled up the manufactures home page, R.D. Wood Co. (http://www.firehydrant.org/pictures/rdwm02.html)
And found dozens of "cute" fire hydrants. Bite the bullet and replace with new? We're talking Country Club here. Surely it's not the $.
Good luck, Tom

(OK! I understand. But what's the problem with simply with pulling the hydrant and using a coupling to extend the feed 18 inches? What size is the service? What material is it"? Can you give more details? Cheers, Tom
