I have a question about filing a new unemployment claim as a W-2 employee and a 1099. I am a dance instructor in PA who gets paid for the classes I teach, not on salary. In the summer months I end up being unemployed while the schools I teach for are on their summer break and can only offer me minimum classes, thus resulting in a greatly reduced income, or none at all. This past year I had my hours cut from my main employer and had to pick up extra classes at another school who pays me by 1099. My question is that since this is the first year that I will be filing a claim for one school who pays me as a W-2 and another who pays me as a 1099, can I file a claim in this scenario? How will it affect my employer who pays me as a 1099? I have filed before when I was paid as a W-2, but not with part of my income coming from a 1099. Any advice would be appreciated.
