I have just found out that my father is not on my birth certifitate, he is currently going through the courts to get access to his son, who is my half brother, but his ex is saying she doesn't want me seeing her son, as my father is not on my birth certificte, therefore her solicitors have informed her her son is classed as an only child, as my dad is not legally binded to me, is there anyway I could get his name put on it, as I want to be in my brothers life. Reagrds Miss Lucy Forshaw.

Lucy: I don't have an answer for you, but to help clarify your question for others who might: where are you located? And what agency issued your birth certificate?

It depends on whether you are 18+ or under 18
If you are 18+ you will be able to have some success
If you are under 18 and not emancipated-you will have no legal resources, but your mother will have some.

It's easy...
You can apply to the court under the Family Law Act 1986 for a "Declaration" that a particular person is your parent and that you are the legitimate child of your parents.

To decide on parentage the court can order that both parents and the child /you/ must take DNA tests.

, but his ex is saying she doesnt want me seeing her son, as my father is not on my birth certificte,

By the way even he is proven as your legal father,it does not mean you will be granted automatically with companionship :)
