How to tell my ex I'd like another try?

We broke up 7 months ago because I was a mess, and kept pushing him away... But we ended on good terms even though he said we can't be friends and that he needs time, I also have to say that we fell in love and he said he never felt that way before, anyway since then I've resolved all my problems, lost lots of weight, straightened my teeth, and feel really good about myself, But I still think there was love there when things ended, and really want to see if we can give it another try, But scared if he has someone or doesn't feel that way any more

He dumped you so leave him alone, and put those improvements to work making yourself happy without him.

Sorry, but he hasn't called you has he? Then leave it alone. He missed out.

I'm not so sure that something can't be salvaged.

If you feel confident enough to consider re-kindling your relationship, then simply give him a call, or email him and ask him out for coffee.

You likely don't have to go for the whole shebang at first. Get a feel for what he's up to.

That is of course, after you find out if he is otherwise in a relationship with another woman.

Maybe try to just be friends with him at first. If he doesn't seem interested in that, then he won't want to be in a relationship.
But he may see the new you and want to jump back in.

If not, use your new confidence to find someone else :)

You straightened your teeth, lost weight, now feel better about yourself?

Who broke up with whom? The thing is you say you were a mess, what kind of mess? Is it that he did not want to except you for who you were?

Or you could not except who you were and that is why you were not so open in the relationship.

The thing is this experience helps people grow and learn.

You feel good about yourself now, that is great. Maybe down the road in a new relationship you will be able to enjoy it instead of worrying about yourself.

Also I would think, he probably needs to work on his own stuff as well.

I am with Tal on this one. Ever heard of the saying an Ex is an Ex for a reason.

You have worked on yourself and a better person for it on the inside and outside. Now it is time to just enjoy the new you.

I have always believe that humans shouldn't have a reverse gear, in other words always go onwards and upwards.

Whatever went wrong the first time will go wrong again.

So move on and up, turn off that reverse gear, its not needed.

However sometimes a 2nd chance is needed for many reasons.
