OK, my AC (American Standard) blew a fuse last week. I have had an HVAC guy out several times. First he replaced the transformer, then the tstat, then the contact and now the blower motor. The AC will run for about 2-3 hours once he finishes with the item of the day but then it blows a fuse again. He states that he has tested everything but it obviously hasn't helped. I can't check the furnace/ac wire for damage because it is in the ceiling of a finished basement. Do you think it is the 24v wire going to the ac unit? I think the HVAC guy is planning to change the control board next. Will this solve the problem? HELP

Don't think a control board is the problem it will either work or not if it was sorted out the fuse would always blow. Is it the fuse on the board that keeps blowing??

Yes, the 5amp one. When we changed the fuse it would run for about 15 minutes, then pop.

AC and furnace. Not a heat pump.
