I have a three speed ceiling fan with a push button switch on the wall.If I push the button for the fan, I get a tone for each speed. I have two problems.
1. I now only have one speed. High speed and off
2. The button for the fan operates the light and the button for the light operates the fan.
Any ideas?

We need a clearer explanation to help you here. Try to describe it to someone who is blind. Brand, model, recent changes, etc.

Sounds like someone wired the fan to the light switch and the light to the fan switch. Reverse the connections at the switch.
