We just acquired a 9 lb. dashound believed to be about 2 yr. old. How much do I feed him and how often. He acts like he is starving when food is placed before him.

Some dogs are just greedy, it's not an indication of how much to feed them.

I would say around 1 cup of dry food a day, broken up into 2 meals. Feed that for a month and just watch his weight, if he loses weight then you know to increase his food, if he gains weight lower it etc.

Where did you acquire your new pup? Is he on a regular de wormer? Dogs with worms can be quite ravenous. Puppy's are usually hardy eaters as well.
