I have a gfi circiut breaker that works not all of the time it does not trip, I change the gfi breaker and as soon as I snap it into the electrical panel it worked and about an hour later I went to check the refrigerate in the garage and it was off and it did not trip .The only thing I have on it is the refrigerate. I have been in this house for 25 years I have had a refrigerate in the garage for 20years. The problem started a couple of months ago could there be problem with the electrical panel where you snap in the gfi circuit breaker could the be not getting any connection or something the question is how do I find the problem Thanks

Yes it could be where the breaker plugs onto the live bus bar.

This cannot be repaired by DIY'er.AN electrician is needed to repair a panel.

You may be able to relocate the breaker to another slot as long as the plug jaws of the breaker are not pitted or burnt.

Turn off the main before opening the panel, and close before turning on.

Be sure the breaker is clean before moving.

I would advise getting the fridge off the GFI. You can put a regular breaker in to feed the garage plugs and then use a GFI receptacle to protect the other garage outlets other than the fridge receptacle.

So could the live bus bar could be burnt or pitted and that could be the cause of my problem seems to be the right answer,so if I do not have any more room in my panel and if the live bus line bar is no good what could I do as a dyi homeowner do be side calling a lic. Electrication.and will it be expensive. Thanks Vitoc
