Hi

Did you install XP to another partition or upgraded to XP over ME?

If you are getting a boot menu when you start computer:

All you should have to do is edit your boot.ini file

Go to c:\ drive in windows explorer and look for boot.ini file in root folder of c: and right click and choose Edit

file will look like this

boot loader]
timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows ME" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(7)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

What you would need to do is remove the line that is related to Windows ME and then choose File and then Save

This will remove any boot option menu that shows up when starting PC

Now you can remove any folders that you have on C:\ that is related to Windows ME only - if not sure, keep
