Engine starts fine- Run for about 10 sec then oil begins to get sucked into carb from hose that comes from engine block

What's the actual model, type and code from the engine? The numbers are usually on the blower housing.

Your manual is here. http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/manual_and_more/docsearch.aspx?enginelookfor=28q777-0678-e1 Just so we are on the correct page, you replaced item #8, correct?
Have you checked and adjusted the valve clearance?
These are usually adjusted when the piston is 1/4" after top dead center. Not sure about this engine.

Yes I did replace that part. And yes we set the valves. Just as the manual says. Just seems to me something is letting it build up pressure in the crank case and letting it blow back into the carb and filter... anything else that you can think of to check.. thanks,,

Valves and the breather are the main things that can cause it.
Thinking further, the crankcase being overfilled or the crankcase getting filled with gas.
Are defective parts a possibility?
Added the missing link to the earlier post of the parts breakdown.
