My 13 yo Kenmore refrig has icemaker that has a bad fill valve per repairman. Did not want to spend $275 to replace valve. Now 3 weeks later water is dripping fast out of fill try and flooded my refrig. And onto floor. How do I stop the water from flowing from it? I The arm is in 'off' position and has been for 3 weeks. I pulled refrig. Out and turned the 'pin' valve on water line to right all the way until it wouldn't turn more. Still water is dripping fast out of fill tray. It is now 5 a.m. Mon. and am still mopping up water, PLEASE help me find out how to stop water from flowing.

First follow the water supply line, should be small 1/4" line, from the refrigerator to where it connects to the house water pipe. Probably connects under the kitchen sink. At that point there should be a little valve which you can use to turn off the water.
Next remove the toe kick plate, there you should see the ice maker fill valve. Looks like below. Go to an appliance parts store, Sears parts store, if you have to, with refrigerator model number and purchase a new one. Replace, should cost $20 to $30. Only have to unplug electrical connection and unscrew 2 water connections. If beyond your mechanical capabilities, find a handyman neighbor.

Thanks for the advice. The repairman from different co. just left and said I was turning it right way, but calcium deposits had it clogged. He got it turned off and was able to replace valve for total of $175, and waived svc. Trip chg as well.
Appreciate your response. Thankfully the repairman came right away.
