I do not have Residential custody but during the summer I get week long visitation am I alloud to go out of state on vacation with my son? Can his mother stop me from going?

What do your Court papers say? In many instances you CANNOT leave the State with the child. In other instances you can.

Are you required to notify the mother of the whereabouts of the child? Is she entitled to telephone contact with the child during your visitation?

They do not say I can or cant. It just says Granted week long visitation during summer vacation months. It says if either parent goes 100 miles from child's residency then the other parent is to be informed does this mean permission is needed also. Yes she is aloud phone contact which is not a problem

If your traveling outside the 100 mile limit then you must let the other parent know. But if your near the boarder of states then you should be able to cross lines so long as its within the 100 mile radius.

And be sure to get any permission in writing, so if they change their mind it is not an issue. You may of course wish to go back to court to change this for vacations of up to? Perhaps two weeks. If the mother says you are restricted, then she is also

Agree with my comrades - notify the mother and get her consent. Of course, if she won't give it, then stay within the 100 miles without it.

If you are properly quoting your paperwork you only need to notify her if you stay within 100 miles; you do not need her permission whether you cross State lines.
