I have a Husqvana lawn mower with a Kohler Courage XT-6/XT-7 (173 cc) vertical crankshaft. The starter rope broke. I removed the old rope. Most how to instructions indicate that the rope pulley should be turned counter-clockwise until it becomes difficult to turn before threading the new rope on. When I turn the pulley, there is no tension or recoil. I tried to thread the new rope on anyway, but of course there was no recoil or tension when I tried it out... the rope would not go back into the mower after it was pulled. Does anyone know how to wind the spring on the Kohler engine so I get recoil on the starter rope?
