I had a clogged toilet, so I snaked the heck out of it, and now when I flush the toilet, the water goes out of the tank straight down the drain pipe instead of into the bowl. The water in the bowl gradually rises as the tank is draining, and when the tank is refilling, the bowl slowly drains out. Did I bust the toilet with the snake?

What did you use to snake the toilet? I don't understand what you are saying. The only connection from the tank to the sewer drain is through the bowl. Water can't go to the drain without going into the bowl, physically impossible. You did not bust the toilet but sounds like you may still have clog. Get a toilet auger not a snake for this app. If this fails too then its time to pulll the toilet and rod the drain. You may also consider rodding from the vent stack on the roof if that can be done safely, using a sewer rodder long enough to reach roof top to basement plus 20'
