Hi.. I am 49 yrs old and for the last couple of months I have been gradually losing my erection... at first it was just now and then it would happen i.e.. I would find even though I was horny it would take a while to get a full erection, but gradually it has gotten to the stage I can't get an erection at all during foreplay and sex. Am not sure if its just the more I think about it the worse it gets, the reason I say this is because I still wake in the morning with an erection... its definitely not a problem with my wife, even though we have been married 30 yrs now she is still a very sexy woman to me, we do and always have done all the usual foreplay stuff, massage, oral, sexy videos, fantasies etc. etc. and I feel I am letting her down at the minute. We are still having sex using all of the above including a vibrator and she still manages to make me come even without my erection but,I WANT IT BACK... I NEED IT BACK... can anybody help me?. ps. Tried viagra and instead of getting a bloodrush to my penis it went to my head and gave me a terrific headache

Have you spoken to your dr about other options, besides viagra? Or tried to figure out why you're not able to get an erection anymore? Figuring out why should help in how to treat it.

I don't think that we can help you any better than the doctor who prescribed you the Viagra in the first place.

There are different drugs available.

It's a good thing to hear a man who has been married for 30 years, say that he thinks his wife is still hot.

Good for you both.

Good luck!

Yeah... I don't think there's going to be any magical cures. Getting to the bottom of what's causing the problem is a better, safer way to go about it.

I just took this human sexuality class. Here's what my text book says about ED:
"Diseases associated with the heart and circulatory system are particularly likely to be associated with the condition...Any kind of vascular pathology...diabetes mellitus, ED may be the first sign of developing diabetes...hypogonadism (underfunctioning of testes that causes testosterone to be too low)...hyperprolactinemia (excessive production of prolactin)...any disease or injury to the lower part of the spinal ...severe stress or fatigue...psychological causes."

I don't think there's any magic cure when you don't know what's causing it. Best to talk to your dr and get to the bottom of it

Well, testosterone is a hormone. if your dr determines that low testosterone is the problem, they will be able to tell you if there are natural ways to increase it or they may decide to have you take testosterone.

Yea, I agree completely here.

I'm your age (48) and I know there's nothing worse than "losing your weapon". A man wants to feel like he is one of the original "Minutemen", ready for action at a minute's notice, and willing to give all that is necessary.

It's a mighty blow to a man's confidence and when he no longer can perform as he once could. And feels like he is rowing a boat with a piece of rope while doing it. It's devastating. Meanwhile your wife is still running on all cylinders, even more so. Wanting, needing. God bless em'.

Get in shape if you're able, that really helps, but talk to your doctor first.

If Viagra makes you adversely react, Cialis is another option. It works AND lasts. So does Levitra.

Or the testosterone could be the answer.

So, somewhere out there is the answer, but it all goes back to the doctor.

Good luck.

Viagra while it works for me, gives me the headaches also and I have used, Cialis and Levitra.

I found also a over the counter pill called "Rock Hard" that for me anyway, works better than some of the prescription medication normally. Rock Hard Weekend (8ct) Last For 72 Hours!
