Six month old dishwasher. Worked fine until today - won't start. LIghts are on and control panel seems to be working OK. The "Clean" indicator is flashing in intervals of 7 flashes and then pauses. When I select the "Start" button it flashes red 3 times and then nothing. The "Drain/Cancel" function works.
Any help in identifying the source of this problem? Any idea on how to interpret the flashing signals on the "Clean" indicator? Help please.

Wow... I hit the "heated dry" and "normal wash" button one after another for several times and it fixed the problem. This web site has been such a relief because this dishwasher was driving me crazy :p . Thank you!!

With a SIX month old dishwasher, there is only one thing you HAVE to do, is call the company, IT'S UNDER WARRANTY!!

Our "Clean" light was flashing and we could not start the dishwasher. It is only 2 years old. I was having a fit. We read the post about pushing the normal wash and heated dry buttons back and forth and it seemed to reset the dishwasher somehow. The dishwasher is running right now. Thanks so much for posting that solution. You saved us a service call and you spared our salesman at Sears a serious tongue lashing! ;)

Hi - I have the Kenmore Elite Ultra Wash Quiet Guard 7. I had the blinking "clean" light - would blink 7 times - pause and repeat. This is due to a temperature issue in the previous wash cycle which prevents further wash cycles from starting. To fix - press Air Dry - HiTemp Scrub - Air Dry - HiTemp Scrub. The panel will light up - go through a test process ending in the quick rinse cycle. If the problem continues - you may need to replace the heating element. I was once told by a repair person to always run the hot water in the kitchen sink before starting the dishwasher to ensure the water temperature is up. Also - there are tons of YouTube videos on how to take apart the internal components of your dishwasher to clean and repair - just never pull your dishwasher out unless you are proficient in reconnecting the water lines - pulling out can cause the line to break and you can flood your kitchen - no did not happen to me - heard about it in a video. :)
