I usually just rinse my potatoes I don't have a brush handy to scrub them, is rinsing good enough? Or should I try another method?

Hi, MarMar27!
What I do, is that if there's a lot of eyes in them, I usually cut most of those out and then rinse them. If there not particularly dirty, I find that using my hands to rub them off while rinsing them works fine.
If the potatoes are really dirty, then I'll make it a point to find a brush somewhere.
Thanks!

Hi :0)
Awesome that's what I do just rub them with my hands while rinsing, or if I have some viva paper towels available use one after I rinse to scrub with that.

I am glad all you guys keep the skin on the potato, there are lots of good things in the skin. The eyes are easy to cut out and I just wash it by hand as well. Which I think is good enough, but wow, JD what a great idea using the scrubby thing. Will defiantly do that next time I get cooking with potatoes.

Yeah the skin has most of the goods in it ! Just like apples :-). . I love potatoes, I use them a lot when cooking, sometimes I do take the skin off for certain meals but most of the time I leave it on, yeah that idea is fantastic I am going to use it as well :0).. and do you use the aluminum looking one ? Or the other kind?

Does that mean that you'll be doing it in a "defiant" and rebellious way, Jusushelper1976?
LOL! :p

As mentioned, I have a dedicated scratchy pad for food.
It does wonders and is worth the "effort" in keeping one around.
