My wife and I got our puggle from a friend @ 6 months ago. Hes never went potty in the house except for the first day he was here at our house. He's been good and never pottied in the house. Now all of a sudden he's pooped in the hallway between the kids' rooms. Im not a patient person so I need help as rto why he's doing this. The only change has been that my son slept in my stepsons room and has been over here at my house. My puggle likes my son and I'm not sure what the problem is.

How old is the dog now? How old was he when he left the pack? Are you crate training?
Patience is key. I know it sounds redundant, but it's the best tool. Every time he eats, drinks or plays take him out side. Praise when he does his business make a huge deal out of it, even treat him at first. You will probably have to go out with him, and wait for him to finish his business.
Has he only pooped the once or has it been multiple times? Don't forget he is still a puppy, and puppies are known to have an accident now and again, even the best trained dogs slip up once and a while.
And it very well could be a dominance things with your step son. If he isn't some one who is there every day, your dog sees him as some one else intruding in on his family and home. Make sure to clean the area with a vinegar solution to clean his scent from the area. I also like using a bit of baking soda on the area after it has been cleaned and dried, and vacuuming or sweeping it up.
