I have a 91 honda accord lx. The problem is when I'm driving(5-15min after the car is fully warmed up) it it will cut out on me when I'm coming to a stop or at a stop, all lights and power will be lost except the check engine light on the dash and the only thing that seems to make it run for longer without cutting out is if I have my heater on full blast. The car will start up after its rested for a couple min after cutting out. I have checked to make sure it was getting fuel after it had cuted out so I know its not that,my main really is fine and I've even tried switching it with another one I had and it did the same thing, I have a used distributor and I changed the parts for other ones except the crank sensor since I can't get to it.the only other thing that is not working on my car is the speed gauge but that was not working for a couple months before it started cutting out, I think it might be my distributor but I'm not sure and I don't want to spend a lot of money on a new one without knowing that is the problem, any advice on the problem would be appreciated

Try replacing the Ignition Control Module (ICM). Be sure to apply heat transfer compound to the back of it. Excessive heat causes the ICMs to act up and fail. The heater coming on is dropping the temperature of the engine enough to allow the engine to keep running. Personally, I would replace the ICM and coil:

Your problem is definitely distributor related, provided it's not over heating.

Thanks for the reply, its not over heating and the temperature gauge works so that's why I never thought it was a over heating problem but I thought it was the distributor too and I'm going to just buy a new one and see how that goes.
