Hi,

I just found out today that I'm pregnant. Although unplanned, me and my partner are feeling pretty good about it and want all the information we can possibly get our hands on. Which brings me to my point.

Does any body have any book recommendations? I know there a lots and lots out there.. . so I rather hoped some of you parents/parents-to-be must have come across a particularly helpful one.

I'm going to see my doctor on Thursday and I know she'll give me a lot of information. But I really want to do my research here. I want to do this right.

Thanks
Gm

Here are just a few... read several books, find what makes sense to you. Some people feel even the most popular books can sometimes focus on the negative, so take from them what will benefit you and leave the rest.

Pregnancy, Birth, and the Newborn: Penny Simkin

The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth: Sheila Kitzinger

The Birth Partner: Penny Simkin (great book for partner!)

Great - thanks guys. I'll be sure to look out for them when I hit up Borders in the next few days.

Another vote for What to Expect When You're Expecting. Also What to Expect the First Year. Great books.
