View Full Version : Is this a rebound situation

Joe breaks up with his girlfriend, Ashley, a week ago after a year together. They broke up due to a fight but this time the fight was long distance. They both graduated recently from the same college and they both went back home... but in 4 months they'll be close to another due to relocation.

Joe has a big ego (and knows it) and a bad temper and says things rashly and he literally has no friends at home except his ex girlfriend from a few years ago, Stacy, whom he sometimes still talks to.
Joe tells Ashley "wake up Im seeing other people" when she tries to talk to him (which must mean Stacy... but Stacy is dating around with other people and does not like Joe more than a friend anymore anyway, she just runs to him whenever she cannot find a guy)

Joe receives emails from Ashley saying she is sorry for various things and she knows how to fix the rel and to give her another chance. Joe writes a draft email saying things like "sorry we didnt work out youre a great girl with a good heart and a good sense of humor but we are done i never loved you should have dumped you earlier and $$$$ you for doing *this* to me" (he says $$$$ whenever he is mad at anyone) However Joe never sends the draft email to Ashley. Maybe Joe just forgot to hit send but wouldn't he eventually have noticed he didn't actually send it?

Joe adds Stacy to his Gmail contacts but does not delete Ashley off his Gmail contacts. Ashley has 3 separate emails listed under his contacts and Joe does not delete them. Does Joe want Stacy or Ashley?

This more like Days of our Lives. A soap opera. Everybody goes with everybody else, and only the commercials make sense.

Joe likes anything that will have him, and Stacey doesn't like Joe, but needs him, and Ashley likes Joe, but Stacey doesn't want Ashley to have him, So Joe may go back with Stacey, if Ashley won't have him, but Joe knows Stacey will take him back, So if Ashley doesn't want Joe, then... Now a word from our sponsors. Click change channels to the Price is Right, at least those nuts know what they want. $$$$$$!!

Its not a rebound, it's a cluster $$$$$$!!

Lol. Talaniman's response is funny.

However, the beginning of the second paragraph seems pretty accurate to me. That's why I seek advice from Talaniman too.

I think Tal forgot to mention the possibility of the two of them being related through Joe's second cousins twin brother's adopted twin sisters.

Seriously, why is this important- to you.

Where is your interest in all of this, and why are you making it your business to figure it all out?

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a brain-teaser.
You must like Joe yourself huh?
I'd say Joe likes no one but himself.

This is my business. I just thought Id be more objective answers by putting it in 3rd person.

So are you wondering who Joe likes? I still say Joe likes no one but himself.

Why not just be honest then, are you Stacy or Ashley.

It would be much easier to help you with a bit more information.

I think Joe needs to go to Europe, Stacy to the Bahamas, & Ashley to Asia.

That way, this situation of gooberness never happens again.

I re-read the question, just to make sure I didn't misread anything...

... Nope, still queasy.

Aw, Ashley, don't be hurt.

It's just the way your question was worded was extremely confusing.

Honestly, I would walk away from Joe. Joe is a complete douchebag that cares about no one but himself. Stacy, eh, whatever. But you should preserve your emotional & mental state of mind & walk away. Keep busy, & go out with good friends.

Everything will be OK.

I think this is Stacy. I don't know how she knows what's in Joes Gmail, but I'm thinking she wants to know if she should take a chance on Joe.
Or maybe she is Ashley. She has Joe's password, so she is wondering if because he has not sent that letter, maybe she still has chance.
It's just like reality TV

Ashley, Joe is stringing you along. If he wrote those things, he meant them. The fact that he has not sent them means nothing.
Forget about him!

If someone wrote to me, "How could you do THIS to me?! $$$$$!" as if they were high & mighty, I'd cut him loose faster than a... than a... well, than a something that's really fast.

Sorry actually you are not deleting it, I decided not to, it was a question and real answers to someone who decided not to be honest and then wrote their question in a very silly manner

I didn't not decide to be honest. Putting it in 3rd person is not honest.

I can't figure out how to delete my account so Im not longer coming back to this site.

The people here are very rude and inconsiderate.

I haven't cried in a week now over this but thank you all for breaking that for me.

First perhaps I am a little rude, but I am also one of the super moderators of the site, one who will decide the reports you sent in on posts on your question.

Your third person question first was confusing and people here are really willing to help, but they respect others a lot more if the questions are clearly written and people are more fully honest.

I see others reaching out to help you now that you have cleared the air

I'm sorry I was what you saw as rude, but read your original post again and then your subsequent one, it was very unclear and it wasn't until your third that it was clear who you are.
Had you come to us as Ashley in the beginning we could have figured it out.

At any rate I'm sorry and you should leave Joe alone. He was not very kind to you.
