I have a GE TFX 24 RLB model refrigerator. The water dispenser has water flowing freely, and cannot be shut off by depressing and releasing the lever. Have to shut off water to the refrigerator. Any suggestion to fix this?

You probably need to replace the water valve (http://www.partselect.com/xq/aspx/Inventory.901314/qx/PartDetail.htm?SourceCode=1). There are DIY stories at this link also. I find them to be helpful in knowing what you are getting yourself into.

The valve should be accessible from the back of the refrigerator. Just see where the water line from your house goes and it should be right there.

Please verify you are ordering the correct part--I picked a likely option, but don't take my word for it!
