I have a Janitrol "Dependable Ninety Two" furnace A/C.. when in AC mode and the thermostat calls on the AC to turn on the compressor comes on but nether the outside fan or the inside blower start. It runs for 15-20 seconds and shuts off does this every 10-15 minutes. The outside unit starts getting hot very fast . I had this unit serviced last year and had a starter cap. And contactor replaced and refrigerant added. The outdoor unit is 20+ years old.. Jeff

There is no problem that would make the indoor fan and the outdoor fan both shut off, either you have 2 separate problems or I did not understand what you were saying. Are you sure the compressor is running? Does either fan spin freely by hand?

Yep.. both fans spin/work in manual mode.

If I turn on the blower at my thermo. It will blow.
If I manually push the contactor on the outside unit the fan turns on but stops as soon as I take pressure off it.

If I put he thermo. Into Auto-cool which is normal operating condition for AC it does this. Compressor is running but nether fan comes on. It then shuts off and repeats again after 15-20 min.

Also outside unit is a old Carrier heatpump that's used only for AC feature.. we have a Janitrol NG furnace inside.. sorry for any confusion.
