Hello. I have natural dark brown hair and I went to the salon to get the grey covered and now it's quite black. I really hate it. My hair is very long and I am very upset. I have been using Neutrogena and I've heard about Prell, etc. My first question is if I continue to use Nuetrogena - what will the "fade" be like? Will my hair be a lighter shade of black or will it become dull? As of now it is very shiny. This is only the second time I have ever had color. The first time went too light brown and then faded around the crown and bangs to a near golden. My second question is can a salon lighten this color or modify it without bleach? Help and thanks!

Did you go back to the hairdresser and complain?
I certainly would ask the salon what is available to lighten the color.
I assume there was some type of glossing agent in the dye and, yes, as you shampoo it you will wash that glossing agent off.

Hi. Yes I complained and she is assuring me that it will lighten up and that it's actually dark dark brown. This was Wednesday night and she intends to call me again this Wednesday. I don't think I trust her much... thanks for your reply.
