Kitchen and bathroom sinks kept clogging up. After putting drano in the kitchen sink the pipe in the wall got a hole in it. I called several plumbers and was told by all that the old piping needed to be replaced. Along with that the bottom half of the stack in the basement needs to be replaced also as it has dimples in spots that have rusted over. The lowest esitmate I received was $1300.00, does that seem reasonable? They tell me they can do the pipes in the walls from a small area in the hall closet and from under the kitchen sink.

I would replace the rotted pipes in the wall. Just because cast iron dimples and has a few rust spots doesn't mean it's bad. I would hold off on that unless there's a leak. Good luck, Tom
