I am on probation for misdemeanor battery and one of the stipulations of the probation is that I do not drink. Now this last weekend I was sighted for a traffic violation (walking in the middle of the road) and was sent to detox because I had been drinking. The ticket was given to me by the university police (seperate from the city police) and I have not spoken to my po yet. I don't know if she even knows because don't you think that if the police looked me up they would have seen I am on probation? I am really worried, I want to tell her what happened because it was the first time in over 10 months that I drank, it was purely a slip up, but I am also trying to transfer my probation to another state because I got accepted into a college there. I guess what I am wondering is if I should tell her or not? And if I do tell her will she put me in jail right away? She seems like a real nice lady and we are on good terms, but I just don't want this to screw up my plans to move so any info would be great. Thanks

ABsolutely. I did 3 yrs probation and the worst thing that can happen is lack of communication. If she finds out on her own, you'll be in deeper $h** than if you 'fess up and take whatever she throws at you. She is in control of what happens, and po's do not like suprises or finding things out like this on her own.

If you don't tell them that is another violation and one that is a lot worst. Not sure where, but here in Georgia, "college police" are actually certified though the state, and your tickets go to state court where the city police ticket only goes to city court for many things.

The ticket will show up on your record if convicted. And your PO will see it when they run your crminal check every so often.
