Hello all. First off, I have been reading some posts on toilet moving and I must say I am really impressed by the members here. Many of you are very thorough and thoughtful in your posts. All right, so here's my problem. I would like to move a toilet over about a foot in my bathroom. I will be moving a wall 18", and would like the toilet to follow suit. I have included pictures to help those more experienced... there are three in all. The drain is cast iron as you can see. I'm going to leave my first impressions aside and see what a professional might attempt/recommend. The X is where I would like the toilet to reside (approxiamtely), of course the wall would no longer be there. The current access point would remain the same as that pictured. Thank you for any help.

"Is it possible to just turn the whole assembly?"

Yes it is, however, you might come up a tad short if you turn the whole thing. If you can "fudge" a bit on the distance that's the way to go. If distance is tight I would break out the fittings back to the tee leaving the tees hub intact. I would then take a 2 X 4 and place it in the branch for leverage and turn the tee to face the X where the toilet will be moved to.
You are then in a position to do one of two things. (1) Insert a 'Dual-Tite" gasket, (see image) in the hub and convert to PVC,**or** (2) Stay with cast iron and lead /oakum poured joints and run directly to the desired location. Your turn! How were you going to do itr? Regards, Tom
