Hello, was just wondering if anyone knew or had experience crossing the border with a criminal record specifically a theft under 5000$. This is from Canada to the U.S. I have a record with a conditional discharge which means it should go away in 3 years(about half way through it). My charge was theft under 5000$. Ive talked to a couple different pardon offices and I'm getting conflicting results.

Anyway, I was just wondering if I would have trouble crossing with this charge, or if it's hit and miss from the discretion of the border officer since my job will be relying on it.

I'm aware about a waiver but I was hoping I didn't need it since its costly, takes forever to get, and expires.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello z:

I don't think my country is going to let you in. Canada doesn't let ME in.
