No one can move against your assets unless/until they get a Judgment against you and then what they can seize varies by State.

What State? Have you been served with a Summons/Complaint?

I don't find this to be material but it is a good question and it brings up another subject - one which does not ask.

Creditors do NOT have to cooperate with debt settlement agencies. Depending on your debts and assets Bankruptcy might be a better way for you to handle your debt. I appreciate that is what you are trying to avoid - but you can spend a LOT of money on a debt settlement company, have ONE creditor refuse to cooperate, be out all the money you spent on the debt settlement company and STILL owe the debt!
