I have a 2000 Durango (4.7L). Starts fine, drives fine, however after 5 to 10 minutes of drivetime, the "check guages" light comes on and the battery voltage drops to nothing. What is wrong? Is there a voltage regulator in this model?

Should repost in Cars and Trucks.
Faulty alternator, voltage regulator is built into alternator.
Replace alternator.

Actually the voltage regulator is in the PCM, the engine control computer.
If it has failed, you'll have to replace it.
Get it checked by a reputable shop. It should throw a fault code, check engine light.
