Father wants to terminate his parental rights so that he will not have to pay child support. Long story short, Father was not in sons life from 2-10yrs old. I filed for child support and they located him and at the time he was ordered to pay child support. Visitation was set-up where he would have visits w/him in Nevada to develop a relationship. After 6months court order said father can take child to Texas for Spring Break and child refused to fly to Texas for visits as he was still not comfortable to stay w/him. After this, did not hear from Father for 2.5yrs w/no phone calls to child but would only send b-day and x-mas presents. Just a couple days ago, he said he will stop asking for visitation if he can stop paying child support. If not, he will take me back to court for visitation again. What should I do? Terminate his rights so he will stop coming in and out of my sons life? Will the Judge approve it?

Sorry, child support and visits are not related.
And he can not just "sign over his rights" unless you are remarried and your spouse wants to adopt.

Thank you.. since my son is 13 will he be forced to fly to Texas to see his father if he doesn't want to? Will I get in trouble for not forcing him to go?

Yes you will force him to go, if you don't, the ex can take you to court for contempt. The 13 should be able to testify in court and perhaps the court may and get some changes.
