Hello all,

I would like to replace my parents LuxPro DM2110 standard heat/cool thermostat with a Honeywell T8602D (which is a programmable unit) to help save money. They have a older Rheem 10 SEER heat pump, model RPKA 049JAZ.

I have found the manual for the honeywell unit at:

http://www.programmable-thermostat.com/manuals/t8602dmanual.pdf

Connection terminals are listed as B, R, RC, O, W, Y, and G (plus two for outside temp OT).

On the existing thermostat, the following is wired:

White to W2
Red to R
Green to G
Yellow to Y
Blue to B

And then there is a jumper wire between E and W2

It would appear that the wire colors match up well except for the jumper, which I do not know what it does. Given the above, can someone help me wire this up (and if necessary, go into PROGRAM mode and make programming changes as indicated in the manual)?

Thanks a bunch for helping me save electricity!

Frank

If your new stat does not say 2 heat 1 cool it will not work.

Hmmm... How would I find that out? I do not have the box it came in...

Thanks!
