How can you verify that the lawyer you want to hire ,in order to solve a VAWA case on your behalf , is qualified , I mean , that he actually has the experience and a record of aproved cases like this ?
Is there an online resource or something else , I mean is a lot of money that they charge , one just want to know if that individual you are about to hire is going to be reliable to handle your case

Thanks in advance for your help.

There is no online resource to verify that specific information. There are privacy and safety concerns with VAWA cases.

After basic due diligence, such as checking the Bar Association to ensure the attorney is in good standing, no grievances, suspensions, private or public reprimands; check to see if he is board certified (not mandatory), check with the local AILA chapter to see if the attorney is a member (not mandatory, but most of the best immigration attorneys are members), check other immigration attorneys to see if they are familiar with the attorney and his practice area.

I think its best to ask the attorney directly specific questions about actual cases (without personal details). Use your case as the example. If you are not comfortable with any of the responses, get a second or third opinion.

You may also check with local agencies such as women's shelters, immigrant support groups, etc. to see if they are familiar with the attorney or can make a recommendation for a good, experienced attorney. Good luck.
