My contract was up last sept 2009 and never renewed i have told them that i will be moving out by the first of may she told me that i had to give a 60 days notice and i will still have to pay for 2 month of rent. Can they do that ?

MY CONTRACT WAS UP LAST SEPT 2009 AND NEVER RENEWED I HAVE TOLD THEM THAT I WILL BE MOVING OUT BY THE FIRST OF MAY SHE TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO GIVE A 60 DAYS NOTICE AND I WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR 2 MONTH OF RENT. cAN THEY DO THAT ?

First of May? Today is the 21st of May. You are giving them 11 months notice?
You are, since the lease expired, in what's called a "month to month tenancy". In most places a month's written notice is required.

You are required to give at least a 30 day notice, after that even though your lease expired, you are considered under a month to month rental but the terms of the old lease cover that rental for many issues, in some states, even the 60 day notice if that was in the lease.
So you will have a min of 30 days to give
