My wife and I recently purchased a lake-front property from the estate of a person who passed away late 2009.
The "estate" (i.e. the son of the former owner) left three boats on the property, saying at the closing (closing date = April 23) that "I'll pick them up next week".
Well, it's a month later and the boats are still around. One of the boats is now sitting in the water, as one of the neighbors pushed it into the lake (it's now sitting at the neighbor's dock).
We'd really like to get rid of the other two boats. We don't want these boats; we merely want to get rid of them.
At what point do I have the ability to dispose of these? How do I go about getting rid of the boats, since they have a title -- much like a car?
