OK I just want to buy some type of spray to use when I walk my 2 dogs. Those nasty flies attack non stop . Not cool at all ! I live in North Carolina ; I tried every '' bugsoff'' that were in the market. Moskitoes live me alone but those flies couldn't care less!!
We send space ship out in space , can't we use some money to help human live in peace with bugs ( meaning: be able to walk without being the target meal of those darned yellow flies?) Really any scientific compagny out there to get the challenge??

Hi, josiane!
You might want to give Absorbine Jr a try! I know that it's mainly for aches and pains. However, it was recommended to me as a bug repellent, and I got to say that it really does work for me!
Absorbine Jr - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=Absorbine+Jr&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=)
Thanks!

Are these actual flies? Like the Horn Fly:Horn Fly (http://ipm.ncsu.edu/AG369/notes/horn_fly.html)?
Or are these the very narrow bodied yellow/brown wasp commonly called "Sweat bees?" If so, check this pdf out:http://www.cals.ncsu.edu/entomology/apiculture/PDF%20files/1.08.pdf

Yellow flies? Did they hurt when they bit? Is DEET ineffective? Are they fast fliers? Then they may be deer flies? Pictures of deer flies are at: BugGuide.net (http://bugguide.net/index.php?q=search&keys=tabanidae) This website sells sticky patches for hats: FlyPatch.com (http://www.flypatch.com/#howto) Here is an authoritative site: Ohio State Extension (http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/2000/2115.html)
