Hi There!

I am wondering how many lights, (the most common BC or screw variety of 15-25W) can I put on one 10 amp circuit. I would need this to also be plugged into the wall as opposed to a switch, would this be OK? Also, could you tell me how to properly connect each light in series and if so do I need any junction boxes/transformers. I have heard of a 14/3 wire which would need to go from one light to the next would this be OK too? I was thinking of attaching 8 lights in a string with around 50cm between each light, would this distance be OK?

Thank you

Claire

Are you located in the US/Canada or somewhere else?

Hi, I forgot to say, I'm in Edinburgh UK, I'm not sure if this makes a difference?

Donf- In terms of the "15 amp circuit" for the "residential wiring plan" does this still apply if I am attaching a plug to the end rather than directly to the circuit of the house if you see what I mean? So I basically want it to be abit like a festoon ;Elec Outdoor Festoon Party Light String Harness with 40 BC Lampholders - 15M - QVS Electrical Supplies | Electrical Wholesaler (http://www.qvsdirect.com/Elec-Outdoor-Festoon-Party-Light-String-Harness-with-40-BC-Lampholders-15M-pr-16665.html)

The simplest answer would actually be just to buy this but the base of each light is too large for what I need it for.

(I'm ever so sorry for my lack of terminology by the way, I am an artist so I don't really know much about electronics!)

Thanks :-)

Everything I posted is incorrect because you are in the UK.

I have no experience with UK electrical system.

I'll delete my posting rather than leave it there and confuse anyone else.

By the way, my wife's dad came to the U.S. from Aberdeen. He and Bonnie are part of the Campbell Clan.
