How long does it take to receive a child support hearing in Dekalb County. The NCP lives in Fulton County. I provide Child Support with everything from his three home addresses, business address, social security number, military id, information regarding his businesses, 2009 tax return, where he claim our child without my permission. And I haven't received a respond. Since this is pending in Child Support, could I still file an abandonment order or do I have to wait on child support services?

I believe you are in Illinois - I looked up the County.

As far as an abandoment order, did you read this (at the top of the forum) before you posted? https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/family-law/child-abandonment-read-first-364259.html. Do you have some special circumstance?

It depends on the backlog in Family Court. I cannot speak for Illinois but the wait in NY right now is 3 months.

If he needed your permission to claim the child on his tax return you must have an existing Order. What does it say?

When did you file and how old is the child?

Is there already a current support order in place, or you're trying to have it modified? If there is no current order, odds are that it's going to take a few months to get something moving. If there is a current order, they court will schedule your case when it has time available. It doesn't matter if you submit one paper or twenty papers - that has nothing to do with how fast the court system moves.

As Judy already pointed out, abandonment is most likely not an issue at this point.
