I am attempting to use a dvd recorder to record old VHS tapes. I have a coaxil cable coming into the TV. The old vcr player has on back panel 2 coaxil outlets for ant. In and ant out. Then it has 2 white jack outlets for audio in and out and 2 video yellow outlets for in and out. Plus the dvd recorder. How do I run all these cables to record my old vcr tapes? Thanks

I would use the video and oudio outputs of the vcr hooked up to the video and audio in of the DVD recorder with RCA Cables. From the DVD recorder you can use either the coaxial cable or (better, Rca cables) from the composite video and audio out into the tvs inputs for monitoring purposes.
Coaxial commections would provide the worst quality, in your case composite commections better, in cases where RGB inputs exist those are better yet, and the Crème del la crème being HDMI. Which you will not see on any VCR, RGB will be exceptionally unusual to find on a VCR too, but many DVD players actually have them, but not all, DVD's with upconverting capacity will have the HDMI outputs. But those are also only seen on HD Digital TV's.
