I am renovating my downstairs toilet and have found that my outlet in the soil stack is 20mm higher than my pan outlet which would leave my pan connector sitting at an upwards angle. Having fitted a new tiled floor , on 18mm ply , which has raised the level from the original , explains why the carpet at the back of the old toilet was always wet. It is an ex council property and think this was fitted incorrectly from the start. Do I have any inexpensive options ?

You should be able to fit toilet bowl over 20mm (3/4"). Just make sure you install new wax ring.

But if still too high, then cut it off. As Ballenberg asks: tell us what material is your drain pipe and we will tell you what tools to use to cut it off.

Both excellent answers. Let me add a bit. If you have cast iron I can show you howm to lower the flange and if it's plastic the flange will have to be cut out and a new flange installed. So what material is it? Back to you, Tom
