I was talking to my girlfriends mother, and she said that you have to wait a least two hours after shaving your arm pits to put deodorant on because if you put it on right away you could get breast cancer. I asked her where she heard this from and she didn't remember..
I was wondering if anyone else has ever heard of this, and or if its true.
Thanks guys!

I never heard that before, but here is what the National Cancer Institute has to say on the subject:
Antiperspirants/Deodorants and Breast Cancer - National Cancer Institute (http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/AP-Deo)

Mostly it depends which category we are really talking about. Deoderant is just that. It keeps the area from getting bacteria and the rest. Anti persperant is to keep the area dry and many contain zinc. And zinc exposure is what has been related to breast cancer. And when you shave you open up your pores so it takes awhile to return to normal. So it makes sense about waiting if possible when using antipersperants.

I've had breast cancer and I have heard this old wives tale. After speaking to my oncologist about this during my chemo treatments, he told me just that... It's an Old Wives Tale.
