Can someone please help me to find out why the car is overheating. I know it isn't the fans or the water pump, could it be the thermostat and if so where do I locate the thermostat to change it

It could be a stuck thermostat or mineral buildup and/or corrosion in the small radiator tubes. You want to only use a 50/50 mixture of recommended antifreeze and distilled water. Never use tap, well, or softened water in a modern-day cooling system; otherwise, mineral buildup will develop. If this happens, remove the radiator and get it rodded or buy a new one. Change antifreeze every 3 years.
Thermostats are located in the thermostat housing, which is located where the top radiator hose attaches to the engine.

I changed the thermostat in the car but it still ran hot should I flush out radiator? I took top hose off motor water comes out, does this mean that it still might be small hoses? And yes there is a lot of gunk in the radiator at this present time please help because I bought a water pump to change, but don't really want to because it involves a lot as you might know.

Yes, flush the whole system. Again, you may find you have to have the radiator rodded or replaced. I would go for a new radiator, if the flushing doesn't do the trick.
