Why do you ask? I would think a till is money put in a cash register. How else would customers get change back when they pay?

Hello j:
A banker starts each day with a fixed amount of money. That's the till. For all practical purposes, at the end of the day, everything over that amount has been deposited, and everything under that amount has been withdrawn.
