Can someone please advise me. It is approx 7/9 days before my period is due (not sure which as sometimes I am 28 days and others I am 30). I have carried out 2 early pregnancy tests which have shown faint pink lines (today’s line was darker than yesterday). Can I take this as a positive result this early on in the process?

I would go to the doctor and ask them to give you an evaluation.

Sounds like you definitely might be. But I wouldn't get my hopes up until a dr confirms it. Nothing worse than getting your hopes up only to find out something isn't as it seemed.

Thank you, am trying not to be too hopeful just in case and will try and resist the urge to pee on yet another stick for at least 4/5 days - I have a draw full of them:)

It is possible that you ovulated early and could be a few days further a long than you think.

Either way, call a doctor now that you've had a + result and he can evaluate you further. Good luck! :)

Thank you very much for that. Have done some normal tests - one this morning (12dpo) and the normal test is coming up as negative so now I am really confused??

Remember that it is important that the tests are read within the time frame stated for that particular test. Reading it afterwards may give a false positive; often an evaporation line that can look slightly positive.

Sometimes a positive becomes a negative when a pregnancy doesn't take. Most women would never know this since they often are not testing very early on.

See what happens when your period is actually due. You may even give it several extra days if it doesn't show up when expected. Test accordingly at that time. If still in doubt, check with your doctor about a quantitative blood test to see if you have an actual amount of hcg in your blood. Fingers crossed for you!

It would be best to wait a few days (though I know its hard!). At this stage, its very easy to get innaccurate results.

Again, good luck :)

Thank you - I know best to wait but heart rules head and you go a bit mad with the HPT's - not going to stock up on them in future - to temping to be crazy:D
