View Full Version : Why do I go blind when it goes dark?

I've suffered from bad eyesight since around the age of 10.
I'm now 17, and I have wore contact lenses for around 2 years now.
My eyesight in the light is perfectly fine, however, when I take my lenses out at night time, and turn off the lights in my room, I find that I cannot see ANYTHING out of my right eye.
But when I turn the light on again, everything is fine.
What could my problem be?
Please help.

Does it stay that way or do you slowly start to see in the dark some ?

Have you had this checked?

Sounds like night blindness to me. Maybe one of the experts can confirm it, and possible recommend something you can do to improve it.

In the mean time, here's a site I found on it.

It does sound like night blindess. AS FAR AS I KNOW, there is no cure. But it's best to ask a professional. Have you seen your eye doctor about this?
